Tattoo Studio Etiquette

Dress for the appointment:

Wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to move to expose the area where you would like the tattoo to be placed. We want you to feel comfortable and can provide you with a cover whilst you are being tattooed.

Price:

It is not appropriate to haggle about the price, this will not lower the price. We have a studio minimum and give a quote in advance of booking in.

Hygiene:

Be fresh and clean when arriving for your tattoo appointment, think about where you are having your tattoo placed. For example if on your foot be aware when you remove your shoes and socks you are not only subjecting the artist to any unpleasant smell but to the whole studio. We adhere to strict medical hygiene standards and ask that clients commit to the same standards not only when in the studio but also by following the aftercare guidelines which can prevent the risk of infection.

Food & water:

You can bring water and are encouraged to stay hydrated for the time you are with us.You can pack food and snacks and eat during any breaks in the tattoo. Food cannot be consumed downstairs in the studio but you can do so in one of our waiting areas.

Refrain from Movement:

You will need to keep still whilst you are having your tattoo done.

Relax as much as possible which will help with the process. You may choose to read, listen to music or watch something. Be patient, the artist needs time to complete your piece, don’t try to rush them by asking how much longer it will be. If you need a break to go to the bathroom, have a drink or something to eat, devise a plan together so the Artist can stop at the correct points.Tattooing requires intense concentration. Some artists like to chat whilst tattooing but others prefer to be quiet. Let the artist take the lead or ask them what they prefer.

Trust:

Trust your artist’s talent and skill for the process, if you have any doubts make the artist aware. When you agree to the design trust the artist will create a stunning piece for you. Interfering and criticising is not helpful and can slow the process down and affect the end result.

Can I bring a friend?

Only the person who is being tattooed is allowed in the studio area, a friend is welcome to wait in the waiting area for you.

Should I Tip?

This is down to personal choice, any tip you leave is at your own discretion and will be solely for the Artist.
