Getting a tattoo that is free from regret

Research

Book in a consultation with your chosen Tattoo Artist, it is good to be able to meet your chosen artist and discuss the idea beforehand. An artist will be able to advise what will work in terms of size, placement and style as the Artist wants you to be happy with the overall look of the tattoo but they are also thinking ahead on how the tattoo will age.

You can view some of the artists other work via social media, however it is important to note that not all work is uploaded to social media. If you haven’t seen something similar to what you are looking to get, this doesn’t mean the artist cannot create it for you nor does it mean they haven’t created similar designs before.

Take your time

Never make a rushed decision when it comes a tattoo, if you need time to think things over then you should take as much time as you need.

Let go

You may be set on a design feature or specific element that the tattoo must include because your vision includes it and or you want to include as many elements as possible. You can of course ask for adjustments to be made. However, it is important to trust the tattoo artist as they are better equipped to know how to balance the design and overall look of the tattoo. They have years of experience knowing what will work and what will make the most sense when creating a tattoo.

Tattoos are personal to you

No one else needs to know the reason, understand the meaning behind them or why you chose them, unless you chose to share this information. Be aware that at times when you choose to share information people may decide to give their opinion on your ink. This is about you and not about what they would have chosen to get instead.

Tattoos don’t have to have a special meaning to be meaningful. They are and can be a form of self-expression and this is a very personal journey.

Take care of your tattoo

Follow the aftercare advice given and remember to look after the tattoo in order for it to continue to look its best in years to come.
