Matt Stopps
Matt, co-founder and co-owner of Origin Tattoo, is a well-known and highly regarded artist in the tattoo community.
Since 2012 he’s worked in some of London’s top studios, UK-based conventions and guest spots in Europe.
In 2019, Matt opened the doors of Origin Tattoo alongside business partner and friend Nicholas Hald. Their vision was to create a tattoo shop and micro community in the industry that felt approachable, friendly and fun.
Matt’s style has evolved from a passion for geometry and pattern work, combined with his love of classic tattoo imagery. His designs are a blend of clean, bold imagery and delicate fine lines.
However, it’s Matt’s technique that has helped make his name in the industry. He believes only the cleanest execution can create a tattoo that is both beautiful and long-lasting.
Having crafted his own subtle methods of shading, Matt’s work is visually unique and unmistakable.
As an avid tattoo collector himself, Matt is passionate about creating a positive experience for his clients. He’s dedicated to ensuring clear communication along with strong, friendly customer service.

Great studio full of friendly welcoming artists, nothing pretentious or intimidating about it. Just had my second tattoo from Matt Stopps and couldn’t be happier. Tattoos are not something you should look to skimp or save on, it’s on you for life and using the best in the business is a worthwhile investment. The level of detail from Matt is immaculate and pictures alone will not do this justice.

I recently had a tattoo done by Matt, and I can honestly say it turned out far better than I ever expected! I especially loved how he added his own unique touch to the design. The shop has a very welcoming atmosphere, and everyone working there has been a joy to interact with. I can guarantee I'll be back to see Matt for another tattoo soon.
